Where did you get the idea for the main character, Natalie Quill?
Natalie and I share many traits (impatience, low bullshit tolerance, sarcasm) so I guess you could
say that she is based on me to some extent. She is far more outrageous than I have ever been
though. I only tend to think most of the things that spill effortlessly from her mouth!
How long did it take you to write the novel?
I started the book about four years ago. I only was really writing down some funny scenes at first and I
certainly never worked on the book full-time. I mostly worked on it while I was chaperoning my
daughter at her many and various activities. The book started out as exaggerated versions of similar
scenarios that had actually happened to me and then about three years later I decided to make it a
full novel.
Will there be more Natalie Quill novels?
Yes, I am about half way through with the sequel, Mom Strikes Back. I hope to publish a preview in
the first re-printing of The Adventures of Mom.
